Using Freecell3D - 3D Navigation and Views
Freecell3D lets you view your cards from virtually any position. This lets you find a position that you are comfortable and that is relaxing to the eyes. Furthermore, unlike many computer card games you can size the Game Window to suit your monitor and personal taste - just drag the border in the usual way or simply maximize the window to fill the screen.
Using the Navigation Control
To change the view of the table you can use the Navigation Control. To see this use the Nav Ctrl menu button or select Navigation Control from the View menu. The Navigation Control looks like this:
Click on one of the red areas to get a description of what that part of the control does. (When you move over a active area of the Navigation control in the game, it lights up yellow.) To Close the Navigation Control, click the "x" button in the top right corner or press the Nav Ctrl toolbar button again.
Using the Mouse to Navigate
You can also change your view of the table using the mouse. Here is how to Navigate using the mouse:
- To Move closer or further away from the table hold the right mouse button and move the mouse up or down.
- To rotate the viewpoint up, down, left, or right move the mouse while holding the right mouse button down and keeping the Shift key pressed. Alternatively, press and hold the middle mouse button if you have one.
- To slide the viewpoint up, down, left, or right move the mouse while holding the right mouse button down and keeping the Ctrl key pressed.
Using the Keyboard to Navigate
The following keys can be used to Navigate:
- Keypad Arrows: Move the Table up, down, left and right.
- Control Key and Keypad Arrows: Rotate the table.
- Key Pad + and -: Zoom In and Zoom Out.
Note: Make sure Num Lock is enabled in order to use the Key Pad controls.
Saving and Loading Views
You can save up to three custom views in Freecell3D, and there are an additional two preset views. If you have found a view position you would like to keep, save it using one of the following methods:
- Use the Save as View # in the Nav Ctrl toolbar button drop-down menu.
- Use the View menu, Save View sub-menu and then View #.
The current view is also saved when a Game is save - see Saving and Loading.
Once a view is saved it can be loaded in the following ways:
- Use the Load View # in the Nav Ctrl toolbar button drop-down menu.
- Use the View menu, Load View sub-menu and then View #.
- Use the key combination Ctrl-# where "#" is the number from 1 to 3 of the view you want to load.
When you start Freecell3D, View 1 is automatically loaded, unless Auto Save is enabled in which case the view position last used will be set.
You can also choose from two preset views:
- Use the Preset View # in the Nav Ctrl toolbar button drop-down menu.
- Use the View menu, Preset Views sub-menu and then Preset #.
- Use the key combination Ctrl-4 for preset 1 and Ctrl-5 for preset 2.
