General Issues
Error Message: Run-time error '339':
Component 'FullDeck.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly
registered: a file is missing or invalid.
This usually means that you do not have DirectX® 8 or higher installed on your computer. DirectX is supplied by Microsoft to add multimedia enhancements to Windows. There may be a control panel icon called "DirectX" that will tell you what version you have. DirectX 8.1 can be downloaded from Microsoft here. Alternatively you may find that a coverdisk from a recent computer magazine has DirectX 8 or 8.1 on it.
You may also have to check that your graphics/video card drivers are up to date for use with DirectX 8. You can usually download the latest drivers from the website of your PC vendor or the graphics card manufacturer.
Note: Windows ME, 2000, and XP are shipped with DirectX 8 as standard.
Cards cannot be dragged
Freecell3D allows cards to be moved by dragging or a point-and-click method. Check you have Drag Mode selected in the Move Options. Also you cannot move cards from the Home Cells.
Cards cannot be dropped or moved between columns
Unlike some patience games you can only move one card at once in Freecell. The exception is where there a empty Free Cells or Columns in which case Compound Moves are allowed. The number of cards that can be moved depends on the number of empty cells.
Freecell3D take some of work out of moving cards by letting you combine a set of legal moves together into a Compound Move. Compound Moves allow you to transfer an ordered group of cards from the end of one column to another column, but only if there are enough empty Free Cells and Columns so that you could have done the same task one card at a time. To carry out a Compound Move, ensure the cursor is over the bottom-most card of the group when you start your drag or first click. If Drag mode is set, all the cards should follow the mouse cursor. If Point-and-Click mode is set then all the cards should highlight.
Note: For a Compound Move to be allowed, then number of free spaces must be greater than the number of cards moved minus one. If you are moving the cards to an empty column then that column does not count as one of the free spaces. However, it there are multiple empty columns the number of cards that can be moved increases as it possible to split the move. These are sometimes called supermoves. The number of cards that can be moved is doubled for every empty column.
